February is indeed fast approaching. You can see the excitement on the faces of young juniors and seniors nowadays. Their most awaited moment will finally launch on the month of February. Can you say now what I’m talking about? what I’m referring to? of course, the JS Prom. Sound interesting right? I’m pretty sure that juniors and seniors are really excited that they are now busy preparing for their clothes(prom gown/tuxedos). Why? Because it’s the time to party and to enjoy! For the young ladies, it’s the time to dress-up and wear their “bonggang-bonggang” gown. While for the gentlemen, it’s their chance
to dance with their crushes or loved ones or whoever they want to dance
with. But remember, it’s not only for lovers to have a date but also for bestfriends,
peers or“barkadas” to have fun. it’s your time to party, guys!!
Prom? Well, the shortcut word for Promenade. But what is the true meaning of prom? Why is it you need to prepare for this event? Why is it many would spend too much just for this? They even say that “you will miss one-half of your life without experiencing this”. Why do we consider this prom as a grand event and very significant event during high school life, especially for the juniors and seniors. The dictionary defines “promenade” as a slow walk, a series of walking steps in a square dance. Hmmm.. Yeah! Exactly!! You’ve read the word “dance”, right? That’s it! But we still need to expand the things we know about this prom.
That’s why we, the 3rd year students of USLT, had our growth or the prom orientation last week, with a theme: “Countdown to the JS Prom, true love waits, chastity pledge.” I’m not sure with the theme but it sounds like that. That was a whole day seminar that taught us what to do on the said event. So, our prom is on February 23, 2008. Can’t wait for this moment but sadly to say, in my case.. I’m not going to wear my gown just to dance on that night. But why? It is being forbidden in my religion (Iglesia Ni Cristo). And I’m loyal to my religion. Even though they keep on encouraging me to join and they keep on telling me that I will miss half of my life without this.. Still, they can’t force me to do that. Of course, my life is still complete w/o this. Still, not experiencing this won’t make my high school life so messed and ruined.
well, sori nlng sa mga mai balak na mgsayaw xkn. hehe, jowk..
